MONSTER BABY
Book/exhibition catalogue for the exhibition with Bjarne Melgaard & Marie-Louise Ekman, Malmö Konstmuseum, Malmö, Sweden, 31 December 2006–4 February 2007. Documentation from the exhibition on Flickr. The book is based on the feature film script Hallo Baby by Marie-Louise Ekman from 1976. Bjarne Melgaard made his own remixed version with his comments, parallell text and drawings on top of the original script. This relates to the way Melgaard and Ekman remixed each others works in the exhibition. A video-installation with the video Life Is Not This Text, based on footage featuring Gösta Ekman, Marie-Louise-Ekman and Bjarne Melgaard shot in Venice (in the prison of Casanova). Halvor Bodin did the editing, animated drawings and sound/music for Life Is Not This Text. Book design by Halvor Bodin with a colour scheme lifted from a painting by a five year old Halvor Bodin in 1969. This was, together with the blown up A4 format, to make a faux children’s book. This painting is featured in the book Influences – A Lexicon of Contemporary Graphic Design by Anja Lutz, Anna Gerber, Gestalten, 2006.
